Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit today (Thursday) summoned the Minister of Construction and Housing, Yaakov Litzman, for a hearing before filing an indictment for obstruction of justice and breach of trust.

The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office informed its attorneys of the decision.

These are two cases in which Minister Yaakov Litzman allegedly used his position and governmental power to advance the interests of private individuals, when he allegedly uses his governmental power for foreign reasons and against the interests over which he is entrusted as deputy health minister.

One case concerns a legal proceeding in which the ombudsman for the Jerusalem District Court petitioned to declare Malka Leifer an extradited to Australia for sexual offenses she allegedly committed there on minors at a school she ran in Melbourne.
