After it was known that the Government will extend the ban on layoffs for another 30 days until the end of June, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Cecilia Todesca, spoke of this measure and also focused on inflation, from the Quinta de Olivos.
"It is a very important measure in these circumstances, going through the second wave, it is an instrument that
has given the country very good results
in terms of protecting employment and the capabilities that companies have," he said about the ban on layoffs. .
The measure expired in the coming days and it was finally resolved to extend it within the framework of the meeting held this Thursday by the economic cabinet at the presidential residence in Olivos.
The decision implies that until the end of June the prohibition to carry out dismissals without just cause and for reasons of lack or reduction of work and force majeure will remain in force.
Regarding the controls carried out by the AFIP in the food chain, and in particular of meat, Todesca said that "they are routine inspections."
And it was there that he addressed inflation concerns.
"For us it is important to know what happens in these sectors, because as we know
sometimes
strange things happen
that end up having an impact on prices, that make people buy less than they could buy, and that is not fair, "he said.

He also maintained that they made "a review of the inflation situation,
of the tools that we have
in this particular situation, with a large increase in international prices,
and the blow of that
on Argentina."
In this sense, Todesca supported another palliative measure that is sustained over time.
" It
is important that
s

people go to the supermarket they can see it
clearly.
They are good products, and it is a basket that represents the consumption of Argentines. "
The official, second to Santiago Cafiero in the organization chart, assured that the Government works "on the
Gondolas law
, which is that when the gondola, when you go to the supermarket, it is not occupied only by two or three larger companies, but
there are products of SMEs
and the popular economy ".
"This takes time to implement but it is a substantive change because
you will have more supply
, and if there is more supply, there is more competition and everyone has more opportunities," he supported.
Finally, he addressed the issue of the stocks of meat exports and said that they will continue "discussing how to balance the export opportunities that the country has as a major food producer, with the domestic market."
"We are working because this has a
very strong impact on
the families'
pockets,
" he concluded.
