Fatima Maqsoudi, a member of the Presidency Committee of the Internal Affairs Committee and the Councils of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, confirmed that holding the presidential elections in Syria is a new victory for them, noting the wide turnout by the Syrian people at the polling stations to participate in these elections.
Maksoudi said in a statement to SANA: We came to Syria at the invitation of this country to closely accompany the holding of the presidential elections.
Maksoudi praised the awareness and strength of the Syrian people, who attended the polling stations with great intensity and enthusiasm, stressing the depth of the deep-rooted relations between Syria and Iran in all political, economic, social and cultural fields.
Maqsoudi added: We, as representatives of the Iranian people and on behalf of the Islamic Shura Council in Iran, came to Syria to carry the message of peace, friendship and freedom, and we wish success and success to the government and people of this country.
Maksoudi indicated that Syria has been subjected to a large-scale terrorist war in which terrorists from all over the world have committed the most heinous forms of crimes against its people.
