The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayed Ali Khamenei, called on the Iranian people to broadly participate in the presidential elections scheduled for next month.
In a videoconference with members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly marking the one-year anniversary of the start of the council’s eleventh session, Khamenei said, “People who incite against going to the polls do not care about the citizens and the Iranian people who realize the importance of participating in these elections,” indicating that the enemies They used all their resources to make the elections a source of frustration among the citizens.
Khamenei considered that the urgent and fundamental issue in the country, which candidates for elections must inform citizens of their programs and plans to solve its problems, is the economy, calling on the competitors to seek to consecrate the transparency of the electoral process and respect its standards.
The Iranian Presidential Elections Commission announced the day before yesterday the final list of candidates whose eligibility the Guardian Council confirmed for these elections, which will be held on the 18th of next June.
