The Minister of Tourism, Engineer Muhammad Rami Martini, discussed with the tourism ministers of the Sultanate of Oman, Iraq and Lebanon separately ways to enhance cooperation to revive the tourism sector, exchange tourism delegations, experiences and training, as well as tourism and hotel training, and introduce the available investment opportunities.

These meetings came on the sidelines of the forty-seventh meeting of the World Tourism Organization Committee for the Middle East and the inauguration of the Middle East Regional Office and the Tourism Promotion Conference that will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 26-27, with the aim of reviving the tourism sector.

Minister Martini discussed with the Minister of Tourism in the Sultanate of Oman Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrizi in a joint meeting the tourism reality in the two countries and the possibility of exchanging experiences in the fields of tourism and hotel training and rehabilitation. The Omani side was informed of the various tourism investment opportunities in Syria and the facilities provided to Arab and foreign investors.

The Minister of Tourism also called on his Omani counterpart to participate in the upcoming investment forum in Syria, stressing the importance of strengthening and developing tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Martini discussed with the Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Hassan Nazim, in a similar meeting, prospects for cooperation and revitalizing cultural and religious tourism, business tourism, and the mechanism for implementing the tourism cooperation program signed between the two brotherly countries. The possibility of increasing flights between Syria and Iraq was also discussed.

In another meeting, the Minister of Tourism discussed with the Lebanese Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ramzi Musharrafia, ways to develop bilateral tourism cooperation and revitalize the tourism sector and the necessary measures to address the spread of the Corona epidemic.

The conference was held at the joint invitation of the Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib and the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Polo Likashvili, with the participation of tourism ministers in a number of countries, including Jordan, Greece, Egypt and Morocco, as well as pioneers of investment and business in the field of tourism.

Eng. Martini and his accompanying delegation arrived in Riyadh yesterday evening to participate in the aforementioned meeting at the invitation of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism and the World Tourism Organization.
