The urn wall at the Hohenpeißenberg cemetery has already been expanded twice.

The demand for urn grave sites is so great that the municipal council has now decided to build another urn wall.

Hohenpeißenberg

- "The funeral traditions are changing".

said Hohenpeißenberg's mayor Thomas Dorsch at the last municipal council meeting, which again took place in the large hall in the "House of Associations" because of the corona protective measures.

“There are now a lot of cremations.

There are then no problems with tending the grave, ”says Dorsch.

Because the demand for urn burial places is steadily increasing, the municipal council once again wanted to create new places for urn graves in the Hohenpeißenberg cemetery.

The urn wall in the communal cemetery has already been expanded twice - most recently around two years ago.

"We have to be quick so that we can continue to offer new burial sites for urns," said the mayor: "We still have a few places free, but it can be done quickly so that they are occupied."

The company from Bad Krozingen was the cheapest

That is why the “erection of an urn wall” was on the agenda of the latest municipal council meeting. 30 new urn places are to be created in the upper area of the community cemetery on the Hohen Peißenberg. The cheapest offer for the new urn wall was submitted by a company from Bad Krozingen: They are offering to build the urn wall for around 26,540 euros. Because time is already running out, it was already time to place the order. The local council decided unanimously to give the Bad Krozingen company the contract for the construction of the new urn wall.

In May 2019, the decision of the Hohenpeißenberg municipal council from September 2018 to expand the urn wall in the cemetery by 20 places was implemented. Shortly beforehand, the community had made space for 21 more urn graves. This means that there are currently 60 urn grave sites in the communal cemetery on the Hohen Peißenberg. With the 30 new ones commissioned in the most recent meeting, there are 90.
