Vacation 2021: Indian virus mutation detected in Mallorca
The
focus of infection is "under control"
, as the Director General in the Ministry of Health, Maria Antònia Font, explained.
All eight infected people could be assigned to a single source of infection and would now be in quarantine in their apartments.
In two cases this is necessary without any problems, the third household is supported by the city of Palma so that the residents do not have to leave the house.
This guarantees compliance with the quarantine.
It has not yet been possible to determine who was the first infected among the cases of the Indian coronavirus mutation.
The Indian mutant is now the
sixth virus variant
that has found its way to the Balearic island.
In addition, the Brazilian, South African, Nigerian and Colombian mutations are circulating in Mallorca.
The British variant B.1.1.7 is still the most dominant.
