Anyone who commutes in the Weilheim-Schongau district and uses the Peißenberg bypass will probably have to plan more time for this from Monday.
The reason is a construction site.
Peißenberg
- Drivers who regularly use the Peißenberg bypass when commuting between the eastern and western parts of the district have to be brave.
As the state building authority in Weilheim announced, the Guggenberg tunnel is expected to be closed on one side from next Monday, May 31 to June 24.
The reason is urgently needed repair work, it says in the corresponding press release.
In the tunnel, the supply lines would run in cable ducts.
Their manhole covers are no longer functional due to the effects of road salt.
For this reason, the existing cast cable duct covers should be replaced with stainless steel elements as part of the repair work.
For drivers, this means that they have to plan more driving time because a traffic light system takes over the traffic management through the construction site.
The Schongau bypass
is also becoming a major construction site: the B17 and B472 are being rehabilitated in sections over a length of ten kilometers between Peiting West and Hohenfurch.
