It is a mega-action that the “family doctors in Isental” are planning on the weekend: 3000 people are to be vaccinated with Astrazeneca in the Goldachhalle in St. Wolfgang.
St. Wolfgang
- "Vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate", this is the only way to get out of the corona pandemic, emphasize family doctors Udo Hahn and Chrysovalantis Kantzeloglou in an interview with the local newspaper.
That is their motivation for the "mega-action" on the weekend, explains Hahn.
During the "Over 40 Astra vaccination", 3000 doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine are administered all day on Saturday and Sunday in the St. Wolfgang Goldachhalle.
The “General Practitioners in Isental” - a 2020 cooperation between the practices of Bertram Arendt (Dorfen), Udo Hahn (St. Wolfgang) and Florian Bräuer (Isen) - are promoting this campaign.
This is a huge effort, but the staff and everyone else involved are fully involved, says Hahn with pleasure.
A total of eight doctors and 20 experienced medical assistants (MFA) are available.
Support was immediately received from the St. Wolfgang community and fire brigade.
The general practitioner explains that up to 3000 people can be offered a vaccination.
Men and women born before May 28, 1981 can take advantage of the offer.
Where do the 3000 vaccine doses come from?
The supplier is Jens Krautscheid's Dorfener Parkapotheke.
When asked, the pharmacist explains that he gets the vaccination doses from wholesalers.
These are stocks of "undelivered Astra vaccines" that have been ordered by doctors but not taken.
“I was there straight away,” emphasizes Krautscheid.
His goal is "that every vaccine gets into the arms of the people and not a single can is thrown away".
“This is a very good thing,” says Mayor Ullrich Gaigl of our newspaper, who immediately agreed to support.
The free use of the Goldachhalle as a vaccination center is "a contribution from the community to fight pandemic".
He hoped “that the campaign will be well received”.
