The city of Nuremberg has published a data sheet on the corona crisis.

The paper gives an overview of the infection process over the past six months.

Nuremberg - The city of Nuremberg published a data sheet on Thursday (May 27) with facts and figures about the Corona * infection events over the past six months.

You can always follow the current Corona events with us.

Nuremberg: Corona infection from November 2020 to April 2021

As can be seen from the data sheet, the situation in Nuremberg * came to a head in March and April after the infection rate was relatively moderate in February.

From March 12, 2021, the seven-day incidence * was continuously at a threshold value of 100. From March 26, the value of 150 was even exceeded.

The Robert Koch Institute * reported the previous high of the so-called “third wave” in Nuremberg on April 19, 2021 with an incidence value of 239.8.

The infection rate then stabilized and currently (as of May 27, 2021) shows a clear downward trend.

A comparison with the period from November 2020 to January 2021 shows that the level of the “second wave” was not reached in the “third wave”.

Nuremberg: So many people have already been vaccinated

By May 24, 2021, a total of 69,667 people in Nuremberg had received their first and second vaccination dose and are therefore considered fully vaccinated.

The total number of vaccine doses administered rose sharply in calendar weeks 18 and 19, i.e. the first two weeks in May, and amounted to more than 30,000 vaccine doses per week.

As can be seen from the data sheet, in the past three weeks more than half of the people in doctor's offices have been vaccinated.

Around a quarter of the vaccinations * were given in vaccination centers, less than a fifth were vaccinated by mobile teams.

Nuremberg: This is how the pandemic affected the economy and the labor market

The corona pandemic has had a strong impact on the economy and the labor market in the city of Nuremberg and nationwide.

Compared to April 2019, the situation has deteriorated significantly: 29 percent more people have registered as unemployed.

The employment figures in the measured period show little movement, but the forecasts look good.

A look at the economic figures shows that sales in the manufacturing sector in March 2021 differed only slightly from sales in March 2019. The number of business registrations in March 2021 was around 17 percent higher than in the reference month.

In March, there was still an overnight ban on tourist trips.

Accordingly, the number of overnight stays in March 2021 was 83 percent lower than in March 2019.

Nuremberg: Less subway traffic and fewer marriages in the corona pandemic

The figures also show that far fewer people used the subway as a means of transport during the corona pandemic.

In April 2021, depending on the calendar week, 40 to 50 percent fewer underground passengers were registered than in April 2019.

There are also large fluctuations in the number of marriages.

When comparing monthly marriages in Nuremberg in 2020 with the long-term average from 2015 to 2019, a corona effect is visible.

At the beginning of the year, the numbers were still average or even above average.

From April and especially in the summer months, up to 35 percent fewer marriages took place in 2020 than the average in previous years.

The city speculates, however, that there could be a catching-up effect here in the future.
