A Republican MP is causing outrage around the world with shocking Nazi comparisons.

The Trump supporter also receives criticism from within her own ranks.

Washington, DC - Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene caused horror by linking Corona measures to Nazism.

Greene is a staunch Trump supporter and has been a member of Congress for the state of Georgia since January.

She presents herself as a corona denier and is criticized for spreading conspiracy myths by QAnon.

Outrage over Nazi comparisons is now also coming from the Republican Party.

Nazi comparisons: Trump supporter compares mask and vaccination requirements with yellow star

The scandal started when Greene was upset in a podcast about a proposal from Nancy Pelosi, spokeswoman for the House of Representatives. This demanded that the mask requirement in the chamber only be dropped if proof of vaccination could be presented. Thereupon Greene said: "We can look back at a time in history when people were told to wear a gold star, and they were put on trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany." According to the American newspaper

HuffPost,

this is "exactly the kind of abuse" that Nancy Pelosi speaks of

.

On Tuesday (May 25), Greene picked up the subject again in two of her messages on Twitter. She tweeted: “Vaccinated employees get a vaccination logo, just like the Nazis forced Jewish people to wear a gold star. Vaccination passports & mask requirement create discrimination against unvaccinated people who trust their immune system to survive a virus 99% of the time. ”Below that, she linked an article in which a supermarket announced that vaccinated employees and customers no longer have to wear masks. There would be a vaccination logo for this.

Outrage over Nazi comparisons is great - Jewish Congress demands an apology

She posted a similar message again a few hours later. In her tweet, she complains that "the practices of the Nazis in our young generation have already begun". She referred to an article that said the University of Virginia would only allow vaccinated students on campus next fall. However, it also states that students could be granted an exemption for religious or health reasons, provided they agree to be tested regularly. She ends her post with: “That's exactly what I said about the golden star. That is disgusting."

That same evening, Republican parliamentary group leader Kevin McCarthy condemned Greene's statements: "Marjorie is wrong, and her deliberate decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust to wearing masks is appalling." The American Jewish Congress demanded Greene on Twitter must withdraw immediately and apologize.

"Such comparisons denigrate the Holocaust," said the Jewish Congress.
