Kangye understands the importance of sustainable development. Through the implementation of the "Solar Photovoltaic Panel Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Plan", solar photovoltaic panels are installed in the property to generate renewable energy and achieve energy conservation and emission reduction.
Kangye currently has installed solar photovoltaic panels in 9 properties under its management, including Tianluan Phase I and Phase II, Sun Hung Kai Center, Huankai Plaza, New Field Plaza, Weijing Garden, Ouyi Garden, Kailian Industrial Center and Midland Industrial buildings cover different types of buildings such as residential, industrial and commercial buildings.
Among them, the Huankai Plaza in To Kwawan, wholly owned by Sun Hung Kai Properties Development Co., Ltd. (SHKP Group), the parent company of Kangye, has successfully achieved "zero electricity bills" for several months because of the installation of solar photovoltaic panels.
Kangye currently has 9 properties installed with solar photovoltaic panels. The picture shows the solar panel installations located in Kutong Tianshan, which has won many environmental protection awards.
Huankai Plaza started to participate in CLP Power’s "Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff" program last year. The electricity generated by solar photovoltaic panels was used to offset the electricity bill. It successfully recorded zero electricity bills for more than one month. One of the largest "ultra-low emission" industrial and trade buildings in the feed-in tariff plan in the Bay Area.
"Zero electricity bills" enable the resources of Huankai Plaza to be redistributed, especially in environmental protection and energy saving projects, and more resources can be invested in building sustainable green spaces with industry owners.
Huankai Plaza in To Kwawan is the largest "ultra-low emission" industrial and trade building under the district feed-in tariff plan.
Under Kangye’s "Solar Photovoltaic Panel Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Plan", more than 14 properties under its management will gradually install solar photovoltaic panels. The plan is to install more than 7,700 solar photovoltaic panels on different properties. It is expected that all of them will be installed in mid-2022. carry out.
It is estimated that it can generate about 1.44 million (megajoules MJ) of electricity each year, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of nearly 1,000 Hong Kong households in one year and the amount of carbon dioxide that can be reduced by 130,000 trees in one year, or about 2,840 metric tons. Carbon emissions, make full use of renewable energy, help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants, improve air pollution problems, and achieve sustainable development.
Use renewable energy to create a green life
Solar power generation greatly improves the overall energy efficiency of the building.
In addition to solar photovoltaic panels, Kangye also actively applies solar power generation technology in different areas. For example, the gardening planters of its housing estates will use solar mud lamps, solar wall lights are used on the walls, closed-circuit television lenses are driven by solar energy, and solar mosquitoes are installed. Lights and smart sprinkler systems are used.
Kang Yip has also spared no effort in energy saving. Many buildings and housing estates have been replaced with more energy-efficient LED tubes and LED ceiling downlights.
In the past 10 years or more, the buildings managed by Hongye have saved an average of 10 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, improving energy efficiency and reducing business expenses.

Improve energy efficiency and re-calibrate properties
In order to achieve energy saving and emission reduction, in addition to the application of renewable energy, Kangye also actively participated in the "Retro-commissioning" (RCx) program implemented by the Hong Kong Environment Agency and successfully registered as the first re-commissioning property in Hong Kong. Management company (category A: re-calibration of facility management company) to improve the energy efficiency of property facilities.
At present, more than 10 executives and management personnel have registered as re-calibration practitioners or experts, mainly for the promotion of re-calibration of properties under Kangye, to save electricity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
