The hygiene rules make it difficult for cinemas in the Weilheim-Schongau district to open.

Many therefore remain closed.

Because the film offers are currently very thin.

District - Since Friday, cinemas in the Weilheim-Schongau district have been allowed to reopen.

The incidence is stable below the limit value of 100. For Georg Werner, who runs the Lagerhauskino in Schongau and the Starlight in Weilheim, opening is out of the question at the moment.

As long as the conditions last, says Werner with regard to the current framework concept.

The warehouse operator fully understands when someone forgets to go to the cinema

That should spoil the joy of a cozy evening in the cinema for many.

“Who can stand sitting in the cinema for two hours with an FFP2 mask on?” Asks Werner.

In any case, he fully understands every moviegoer who prefers not to visit.

Implementing all regulations also poses great difficulties for cinema operators.

For example, to register the exact personal information for the respective place.

Questions also remained unanswered.

“What if the visitor turns around when the lights go out?” For example.

Or “How should I check that the mask is worn throughout the film?

With a night vision device? ”Asks Werner.

Kinocenter im Trifthof wants to reopen from July 1st - if the incidences remain stable

Katha Sohnius, who works for the cinema center in the Trifthof in Weilheim, is also a little at a loss.

“The effort is not related to the cinema experience that the visitors should have,” she explains.

Internally - and together with the film distributors and the associations - a date was set for the reopening, which was recently announced publicly: The cinema center will welcome visitors again from July 1st.

But that still depends on the incidence figures and guidelines, "which make economic gaming operations difficult," as the Trifthof cinema center reports on its Instagram page.

Visitors must present a negative test or proof of full vaccination or recovery to enter.

When the rules loosen up, the warehouse will stay closed - only the Starlight will open

Werner assumes that most of the cinemas in Bavaria will not open under the current conditions and that the distributors will probably not be releasing any new films.

Sohnius is also of the opinion that there is currently no film offer that is worthwhile.

"If it turns out like last summer, then I'll open again," says Georg Werner.

At that time, for example, no test had to be presented and the mask could be removed at the seat.

Should it actually come to that, Werner will only open the Starlight cinema in Weilheim.

Because in the warehouse cinema, with the distance rules, only nine to ten people could sit per performance, explains Werner.

And he doesn't want to send visitors home every night.

The KinoP in Penzberg, on the other hand, defies the rules and wants to let films run on the screen again.
