The rebound in the covid-19 pandemic in the Dominican Republic keeps the intensive care units of Greater Santo Domingo, which includes the National District and Santo Domingo, saturated, according to figures from the National Health Service (SNS).
The data from the SNS this Thursday indicate that 79% of the beds in public and private hospitals were occupied.
While in the public network, 82% of the respirators were in use and 49% of the private ones were also assisting the most critical patients.

According to the epidemiological bulletin this Thursday, of the 1,765 new cases, 65% were registered in Greater Santo Domingo.
The Government tries to control the spread of covid-19 in the capital area with a more restrictive curfew.
As of Thursday, the curfew in the National District and the Santo Domingo province will be every day between 8:00 pm local until 5:00 am local.
Citizens will be able to transit until 11 pm

Additionally, the Government reported that as of this Thursday the sale of alcoholic beverages consumed in public and private spaces for public use is prohibited from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The restrictions also extend to public and private spaces for public use, which as of this Thursday can only receive up to 50% of their total capacity.
