Geneva-SANA- The World Health Organization (WHO) called for free access to patients in the besieged Gaza Strip and to be able to evacuate them

Geneva - Sana

The World Health Organization has demanded free access to patients in the besieged Gaza Strip and to be able to evacuate them to receive the necessary treatment, in light of the pressures facing medical teams to care for the sick and injured after the Israeli aggression on the Strip and its destruction of health centers and the closure of crossings to it.

Fadela Al-Shayeb, a spokeswoman for the organization in Geneva, said in a statement quoted by Reuters excerpts from it that there are about 600 patients, some of them with chronic diseases, who needed to be transported outside the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli aggression, but the organization's teams were unable to do so due to the closure of the crossings.

She added, "It is very important that we help the Palestinians get the care they need, especially helping them with treatment outside the Gaza Strip."

Other aid organizations complained about the difficulty of accessing humanitarian aid and medicine supplies to the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation launched a brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip that lasted from the tenth to the twenty-first of this month, resulting in the death of 255 Palestinians, including 66 children, in addition to the wounding of about 1950 injuries, including 560 children, and massive destruction of Palestinian property and homes, infrastructure and medical centers.
