- A Greenpeace campaign around hundreds of VW Group vehicles in Emden has come to an end on the Zugspitze.
During a protest on the Snowerner Glacier there on Friday, the police secured several bags full of keys, they said.
Greenpeace activists had brought them to the highest mountain in Germany together with protest posters.
The action was peaceful.
At around 9.15 a.m., the Garmisch-Partenkirchen police station was informed of this and arrived.

The environmental organization criticizes VW for switching to electromobility too slowly.

Action on Zugspitze: VW keys come from Emden
On Wednesday morning, Greenpeace activists withdrew the keys from vehicles at the seaport in Emden. The Leer police are investigating trespassing and particularly serious theft. She did not want to comment on details. Greenpeace argues that they only "borrowed" the keys. VW did not go into detail in a statement on the action, but emphasized that it was "open to critical dialogue". According to a spokeswoman, the group has not filed a complaint. The action on the Zugspitze is rated by the Garmisch-Partenkirchen police as an unauthorized gathering.
According to Greenpeace, the keys seized by the police are all keys that were withdrawn in Emden.
According to the environmental activists, there are around 1500 pieces, the police and VW did not comment on the number on Friday.
On Wednesday, the police estimated 300 to 400 keys.
The police took the personal details of all activists.
The keys have been secured.
