Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko affirmed that external forces are weaving conspiracies to target the Commonwealth of Independent States, calling on the countries of the Association to deepen ties between them to enhance their capabilities and thwart these plans.
TASS quoted Lukashenko as saying today during a meeting with heads of delegations participating in a session of the League of Heads of Government Council that “One of the issues of discussion regarding integration between the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States is the targeted action carried out by external forces against our countries ... and since we are stronger now, we are able to Confronting and blocking their plans to create a unipolar world.
He added, "Our countries possess enormous qualifications and capabilities, which causes concern to competing countries, and we can double these capabilities if we deepen and strengthen the ties between us."
Lukashenko called on the CIS countries to participate in decision-making on regional issues of common interest.
It is noteworthy that the Commonwealth of Independent States is an international Eurasian organization made up of 12 ex-Soviet republics, headquartered in Minsk, and aims to find cooperation in the fields of trade, finance, laws, security and combating terrorism.
