They used to be called 1000 Heftl, now they are just d'Heftl.

Landkreis - It doesn't fit into any drawer and plays its own, unmistakable sound: the band d'Heftl.

Now her new CD with the title "Collateral Damage" has been released.

Provocative?

Without question.

This won't surprise the fans of the band, whose members are based in Niederloh, Grünbach, Edling, Velden and Dorfen.

She has always dealt with what is happening in our world right now, and this is exactly what the pieces of music by the seven-piece band reflect, more political and utopian than ever.

The texts with titles such as “Human Resources”, “Die Zentralbank”, “Gender”, “Cyperjunkie” or “Drones” speak for themselves.

With their content, d'Heftl put their fingers directly into the wound.

“We are not a human resource.

We have thoughts and we feel pain.

We exist through other people.

Money alone does not buy a heart ”.

These are lines from the song "Human Resources", in which the band praises the value of people.

The seven musicians skillfully hold the mirror of society in front of their fans in just under 60 minutes worth listening to and particularly like to instrumentalize contradictions, such as warfare with drones.

This is also the name of the song.

“We write these lyrics to make a difference,” explains guitarist Otto Hohentanner, “and thus also show our personal sensitivities”. Everyone in the band contributes to the lyrics or contributes musical ideas: whether Jürgen Weingärtner, as the master of the rhythm on the bass, Walter Ruckdeschel (saxophone, percussion) or Ingo Scheibner on the guitar, who replaces Glenn Tipton, as in the CD booklet is to be read. A hidden reference to his Parkinson's disease that Hohentanner does not shy away from.

Some of the pieces have a slightly stronger handwriting of individual band members. Ingrid Gerbl (accordion, keyboard, vocals) wrote the text for "Human Resources", Sylvie Seizinger (vocals) is responsible for a new lyrical edition of "Aujourd'hui", Walter Köstlmeier (drums, vocals) created "drones" , while “Spätes Glück” about aging with dignity is one of Hohentanner's favorite titles.

D'Heftl have gotten older and have now been together for more than 360 years.

The new CD was not initially planned.

The idea was to capture the music that had developed over the years in regular rehearsals, just to the delight of the band members.

The pieces of music were recorded between January and December 2020. The result is a great CD, which the band dedicated to the memory of Michi Roß.

You can buy it in the Dorfner bookstore and order it from the website 1000Heftl.jimdofree.com.

The next live performance is expected to take place on July 24th on Sinnflut.
