A car dealership wants to set up public e-charging stations.

However, less than stipulated in the contract with the municipality.

That led to discussions.

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn

- The Schmid car dealership in Höhenkirchen wants to build an electricity filling station that is accessible to everyone on the former allotment area between Münchner Straße and Sportplatzstraße.

The building committee has now issued the building permit.

However, some councilors reminded the community that the car dealership had originally promised a larger e-charging station and demanded that the promise be kept.

“We should definitely enforce that,” said Otto Bußjäger (UB).

According to the building application, the dealership is planning a covered electricity filling station with four charging places.

A large part of the 1764 square meter area is to serve as storage space for cars.

Photovoltaic panels on the filling station roof are supposed to deliver climate-neutral electricity.

50,000 euros for the gas station - and the power line comes on top

As Marcus Schäfer, authorized signatory of Auto Schmid GmbH, explained in the meeting, the PV system can only contribute a small part to the amount of electricity required - and only "when the sun is shining".

Therefore, a main power line is necessary for the commissioning of the charging stations.

This is missing so far, so that the car dealership not only has to raise around 50,000 euros for the gas station, but also an amount that is at least as high for the power line.

Therefore, Schäfer asked the community for a financial grant.

This will not be decided today, clarified Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD), who probably did not want to heat up the tense atmosphere in the multi-purpose hall, which has been converted into a meeting room.

Because some committee members were anything but satisfied with what the dealership is now planning.

"You have to ask again"

Bußjäger, who was not yet a member of the municipal council when the administration negotiated the purchase contract for the property with the car dealership years ago, knew nothing about the exact contents of the contract, but he did know that the company had promised to set up eight charging stations on the site. "You have to go back to that," he demanded. After all, it was certainly not the declared will of the municipal council that such a large car storage space should be created at this point. The sale of the property was linked to the construction of the eight charging stations, confirmed his parliamentary colleague Andrea Hanisch and warned against “bending the contract”.

Schäfer made it clear that the modular design means that an expansion of the system is generally unproblematic. “If the need arises, we'll do it,” he promised. The crux of the matter is the lack of a power line. As he explained, the situation was complicated by the fact that the apartment building built by the municipality on the other part of the former allotment garden had blocked a connection point for the power line. However, the committee did not want to accept this argument. The dealership representative was told that the community building needed electricity was foreseeable from the start.

Roland Spingler (CSU) finally tried to take some excitement out of the discussion.

"We should be happy that a start is now being made and not talk everything to death," he said - with success: in the end everyone voted for the building application.

Nevertheless, it could still be a long time before you can really fill up at the e-filling station.

As Schäfer confirmed on request, the dealership will only apply to Bayernwerk AG to move the power line when it is clear whether the municipality will make a financial contribution.

Schäfer stated the period of time until such a line is laid as eight months.
