According to the latest Ipsos poll, the Union is just ahead of the Greens.

Surprising result: two parties are tied at once.

Berlin - With regard to the current polls for the federal election in 2021, the CDU is fighting its way out of its low.

In the Insa online survey a few days ago, she was able to increase her lead over the Greens by a few points.

The Ipsos survey published today (May 28) shows a similar trend among the top parties, but there is a surprise in third place, where suddenly two parties find themselves again.

Federal election 2021: Ipsos poll shows amazing turnaround in third place

In the Sunday question about the federal election, the Union cut off with top candidate Armin Laschet with 25 percent.

With only two points behind, the Green follows, with Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock.

In the case of the top parties, the new Ipsos election forecast remains exciting.

In the last polls, the SPD was always stable in third place.

In the current poll, another party seems to be pushing forward.

For the first time, the AfD is on par with the SPD - with 13 percent.

Thus, both parties would be the third strongest force if there were parliamentary elections on Sunday.

The left reaches nine percent, the FDP is just ahead of it with eleven percent and is therefore in fourth place.

All other parties make up six percent in the Ipsos survey.

YouGov survey on the top candidates: Scholz convinces ahead of Laschet and Baerbock

A few days ago, the results of a YouGov survey were surprising. In contrast to some other surveys, YouGov asked how the top candidates rated the political work. Here, SPD man Olaf Scholz takes first place. With 21 percent, the chancellor candidate was well ahead of his rival colleagues Laschet and Baerbock. These reached only 18 and 17 percent. The percentages of the parties from the YouGov survey also show how open the race between the Union and the Greens still seems.

The Ipsos election forecast is based on a mixed-mode survey.

An online survey that was carried out on May 21st and 22nd was included in the result.

1000 people in Germany were interviewed, 501 of them women and 499 men.

In order to calibrate the data, a representative CATI survey was carried out from May 18th to 25th with a sample larger than 1014, of which 442 were women and 572 men.

This mixed method gives the data greater validity.
