According to the Charter of the Hong Kong University Student Union, if a candidate is to be successfully elected, a positive vote must be more than a negative vote, and no less than 10% of the basic members’ affirmative votes should be obtained.

According to the Hong Kong University's "Academy", there were 16,969 basic members this year, of which 2,773 participated in the vote, and the turnout rate was 16.34%.

The cabinet of the Central Office of the Candidate Student Union and three general suffrage members were all elected, and all representatives of the undergraduate students of the Academic Affairs Committee were also successfully elected.

If the Student Union Council does not receive any complaints within 48 hours, the above election results will take effect.

The candidate president Guo Yonghao received 2,441 votes in favor and was elected; Finance Secretary Mak Jinqi, University Affairs Secretary Huang Jingxuan and Administrative Secretary Lin Longhui were elected by 2,429, 2,492 and 2,486 votes respectively.
