Two young men were indicted Thursday evening in Dijon after the assault on Sunday of the mayor of Ouges (Côte-d'Or), said Dijon prosecutor Eric Mathais.

The two men, aged 18 and 19, who "
dispute or minimize their participation
" in the assault, were indicted for "aggravated violence" and "violence in meetings", facts punishable by 7 years imprisonment and 100,000 euros fine, said the prosecutor in a press release.
One was remanded in custody and the other under judicial supervision.
