Russian astronomer Oleg Ogolnikov revealed that within a week the Russian people will be able to see a partial solar eclipse, and in the Yakutia region, they will witness an annular eclipse for the first time in 50 years.
Ogolnikov told Sputnik that the next eclipse will occur on June 10, and the partial eclipse can be seen from the lands of Russia, with the exception of the Far East, in Moscow, adding that “in the middle of the eclipse the moon will obscure 27 percent of the sun’s diameter and it will look like a cut apple.”
Ogolnikov pointed out that with such shading of the sun there will be no darkness on the earth, and if the observer does not look at the sun at the right time, he will not notice anything, and the inhabitants of northeastern Yakutia will be more fortunate and it is possible to observe 94 percent of the solar eclipse when the moon does not completely cover the disk of the star. Even when the moon and sun coincide in the sky.
There will be another total solar eclipse in 2021 and it will happen on the fourth of next December, but it can only be seen from Antarctica and its environs.
