Even if the weather doesn't quite play along, the beer garden season has officially opened in the Nandlstädter Waldbad.

This season will also be a challenge for the tenant family.

Nandlstadt

- "I'm really happy that the beer garden can open again," says Mayor Gerhard Betz in an interview with FT. And the town hall chief knows that this season will also be a challenge for the leaseholder family Loreto - on the one hand because of the corona pandemic, on the other hand because of the renovation of the forest pool. Betz announced that the excavators should start rolling in mid-June.

A year ago, the Loreto family took over the beer garden in the Waldbad - knowing full well that “there will be no bathing operations in 2020 and 2021,” reports Betz. Nevertheless, landlady Daniela Rossitto was confident at the opening a year ago: "We are optimistic and have a lot of patience." And you need that too: The corona pandemic with all its restrictions will also accompany this year's season, and also with the renovation work it starts in a few days. But at least as far as the work is concerned, the mayor is optimistic: “I think that this is an attraction.” An after-work beer with a view of the construction work - “that’s something”. Especially since the Waldbad has the “only classic beer garden” in the area, Betz knows.

According to owner Marco Loreto, the beer garden season last year was “not bad”.

And he is convinced that people will come this year too - “if the weather is right”.

In addition to Bavarian delicacies, visitors can also look forward to Italian dishes.

Good to know

This year, the beer garden in the Waldbad is open Monday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. - weather permitting.
