The president of Morena, Mario Delgado, denounced on his social networks the intimidation suffered this Friday when an armed group stopped the vehicle in which he was traveling with other deputies and senators of Morena, showing their weapons in the city of Matamoros, in Tamaulipas, in the border with the United States.

Delgado explained what happened in a video posted on social networks at the same time that the events occurred.

“They detained us in Tamaulipas, pointing long weapons at us.

We are fine, but we regret the situation of violence in this state, ”Delgado recorded on his cell phone.

In the video he details that they notified the National Guard of what happened and he is heard asking the Secretary of Security, Rosa Icela Rodríguez for help.

"We were stopped by a truck with long weapons and we are standing here.

Nothing more for you to warn Rosa Icela, "he said by phone with the suspicious vehicle to one side.

Tamaulipas is one of the most violent regions in the country, which adds to the serious political crisis in which it has been plunged since its governor, Francisco Cabeza de Vaca, barricaded himself at the government headquarters after a judge requested his arrest accused of money laundering.

An arrest also requested by the United States to which the Tamaulipas Prosecutor's Office opposes, arguing that it enjoys jurisdiction, which prevents its arrest.

A controversy pending to be resolved by justice.

From inside the vehicle, Delgado took advantage of the incident to criticize the political and social situation in the border region. “This is the situation in Tamaulipas, obviously [this matter should] be investigated. We were stopped by a truck and they pointed long guns at the truck but we are fine. I am with Senator Lupita Covarrubias, Congressman Erasmo and Congressman Adriana Lozano, ”Delgado explained in a video that he recorded while talking with the young people in the other vehicle.

As can be deduced from the conversation between the occupants of the truck and Morena's team, the armed group wanted them to get out of the vehicle, but they refused until they finally showed identification as members of Morena, which immediately made the suspicious truck seize. move away from the place, according to the images. In the recording, no weapons are seen at any time.

Immediately afterwards, Delgado, who is touring the region in support of Morena's candidates for the elections on Sunday, June 6, followed the broadcast with a criticism of the situation of violence in Tamaulipas and Governor Cabeza de Vaca, of the opposition National Action party (PAN). “This is how things are in Tamaulipas, hopefully there is some explanation for what has just happened. Fortunately, it did not grow older. Tamaulipas is experiencing a crisis of insecurity and that causes the situation in the governor himself and the Judicial Power that has not yet resolved. It is urgent that governance return to Tamaulipas. We have just experienced a situation that we do not wish on anyone, "he said in the video posted on social networks. “We are going to Reinosa, we know that the governor is very angry because our movement is leading in the polls.Hopefully security is guaranteed ”, he added.

Senator Lupita Covarrubias, who was accompanying him, joined in the criticism of the situation.

“We cannot continue like this, we need the Fourth complete transformation in Tamaulipas.

The situation has been like this for years and years, but it has increased a lot.

This land is not of traitors to the country, we need a change, ”said the senator, asking for the vote for Morena.
