The Tuen Ma Line will open to traffic on the 27th of next month, but the East Rail Line, which is also part of the Shazhong Line project, has not yet completed all the works.
The MTR will suspend all-day service from Mong Kok East to Hung Hom Station tomorrow (30th) for track works.
The MTR will provide free shuttle buses from Kowloon Tong to Hung Hom Station, and there will also be special ticketing arrangements.
KMB stated that it will closely monitor the situation and make changes to its services.
This is the fourth stop on the same section of the East Rail Line. According to the MTR’s plan, there are still 6 stops for service construction on this section. The rest of the stop dates are yet to be announced by the MTR.

West Rail passengers can use the Octopus to get out of the gate at Hung Hom tomorrow, free of fare
Tomorrow, the MTR will continue to use the special ticketing arrangements of the past stops. Passengers who use Octopus will leave the gate at Hung Hom Station and continue the journey via the shuttle bus. They can enjoy half or even the entire journey for free; no shuttle bus is required. Passengers connecting to West Rail, as long as they exit the gate at Hung Hom Station, are also free of fare, but they are not benefited if they use a one-way ticket.
Passengers who leave the gate at Kowloon Tong and take the shuttle bus to Hung Hom Station to connect to the West Rail, use an Octopus to exit the gate, and only charge the fare for the Kowloon Tong gate for the entire journey.
MTR launched a QR code payment gate on the 23rd of last month. Passengers who use one-way tickets, metropolitan tickets or QR codes to exit at Kowloon Tong must exit at the designated gates in order to enjoy the free second journey. .

KMB also said yesterday that after the suspension of the train service from Mong Kok East Station to Hung Hom Station, the passenger flow between New Territories East and the urban area may increase. It will closely monitor the use of the 7 routes from New Territories East to Hong Kong Island and make appropriate decisions. Car services are mobilized to meet demand.

When the MTR announced the opening of the entire Tuen Ma Line yesterday, it was repeatedly asked about the opening time of the East Rail Line's cross-harbour section.
