Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu praised the reality of the military cooperation between Russia and Armenia, which is developing with great success.
"Moscow and Yerevan are strengthening military cooperation between them on a bilateral basis and within multilateral international formulas, foremost of which is the Collective Security Treaty Organization," Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted Shoigu as saying during a meeting in Moscow today with his Armenian counterpart Vagarshak Harutyunyan.
Shoigu pointed to the successful implementation of the agreement on the formation of a joint force group and a joint air defense system in the Caucasus region for collective security, noting that the presence of the Russian military base No. 102 in the territory of Armenia is an important factor in ensuring regional security and is an indication of the high level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Shoigu explained that the relations between the two countries are still at a very high level as they continue to develop and deepen the strategic partnership.
