The state budget deficit will amount to "
about 220 billion euros
" in 2021, against 173.3 billion provided for in the initial finance law, Minister of Public Accounts Olivier Dussopt told AFP on Saturday.

This worsening of nearly 47 billion in the budget deficit is "
the consequence of the support measures that we continue to take to best support the recovery
", according to the minister.
An amending finance bill will be presented on June 2.
It includes 15 billion euros of additional emergency measures.
Invited to the microphone of Europe 1 this Saturday, Olivier Dussopt confirmed the extension of these support measures.

As long as there are constraints weighing on companies, we are there,
" he said.
By specifying that the gradual end of this aid would be done less quickly "
for the sectors which are still experiencing difficulties
".
