Far from the island of Macao, a Chinese gambling den was dismantled overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday in the rue de Joinville by investigators from the games group of the banditry repression brigade.

Three men including two organizers, aged 37 and 48 and an accomplice were referred Thursday evening to the Paris prosecutor's office before being released on bail with a summons to the criminal court.

He was taken to an apartment specially rented for this clandestine activity.

Officials set up surveillance in the streets and recognized men who were already known to be big players.

Eight people were arrested in flagrante delicto

On May 26, after midnight, the police took over the gaming circle and arrested five men and three women, aged 27 to 53. There were six players and two organizers. But also a cook and his companion who provided a catering service for the participants. The officials got their hands on 8,000 euros. The eight people arrested were taken into custody in the premises of the PJ Porte de Clichy. The two main suspects have confessed. The first admitted that he was responsible for finding premises and had rented this apartment. The second called the players and took reservations. Mah-jong tokens were sold for 5 or 10 euros. The two men estimate their profits at 200 or 300 euros per evening for about fifteen customers.
