The Free Patriotic Movement in Lebanon called for the initiation of dialogue and cooperation with Syria in order to secure the safe and dignified return of the displaced Syrians, especially as Syria enters a new stage in its history with the election of Dr. Bashar Al-Assad as President of the Republic by the will of his people.
The political body of the Free Patriotic Movement indicated in a statement issued today after its periodic meeting headed by Representative Gebran Bassil that the Free Patriotic Movement calls on the Lebanese to unify the position on the issue of the displaced Syrians and start dialogue and cooperation with Syria to secure a safe and dignified return for them, especially after Syria enters a new phase of its history. With the election of Dr. Al-Assad as a president by the will of his people, which will contribute to more stability, reconstruction and normalization of Syria's relations with the Arab world.
The commission added: “Lebanon should benefit from the climate of calm in the region, which must be reflected positively by lifting the financial blockade on Lebanon and by forming a regional and international will to prevent its fall if we, as Lebanese, launch an integrated reform program for the advancement of our country and our economy.”
The main trend charged with forming the government demanded Saad Hariri to settle his issue and form a government that respects constitutional standards and principles and is capable of its ministers and its program to implement the necessary reforms. To consult in the entirety of crises in full view of the Lebanese, so that they are aware of the positions and behavior of each political party and make sure for themselves who are preventing solutions and reforms in Lebanon.
The current stressed that the Palestinian steadfastness in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem has restored the consideration to the Palestinian cause, ended the era of the Israeli aggression with impunity, and established a new phase in the region entitled the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the Palestinians' right to freedom, security and stability.
