In search of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, investigators raided a new abbey

According to information from the JDD, the police raided the abbey of Saint-Michel-en-Brenne (Indre) on May 18, following new testimony. They returned empty-handed.

reveals that the police of the PJ of Nantes as well as of the OCRVP (Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons) raided the Saint-Michel-en-Brenne abbey ten days ago, located in Indre, near Châteauroux.

They went there following a testimony received by investigators, reporting the presence of the fugitive between the walls of the abbey.

Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès has nevertheless remained untraceable, as every time since April 15, 2011, the last time he was seen (on the images of a CCTV camera, making a bank withdrawal).

The Abbey of Saint-Michel-en-Brenne was acquired in 1975 by the sister of Archbishop Lefebvre, founder of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX).

This traditionalist abbey has since housed the nuns of the Fraternity.

It had already hit the headlines when the gendarmes came to arrest the former Pétainist militiaman Paul Touvier there in 1989, later sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes against humanity.

This is not the first time that the investigators wonder if Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès could have found refuge in an abbey: they were first interested in the Saint Madeleine du Barroux abbey, frequented by the murderer. on the run, then more recently in 2018 at that of Roquebrune-sur-Argens.

Each time, without finding the slightest trace of the fugitive ...
