Irish journalist Finyan Cunningham said that the presidential elections in Syria achieved a "resounding success" after 10 years of brutal warfare imposed by the United States and its NATO partners on Syria.
The Irish journalist confirmed in a comment published by Sputnik today in English that the Syrians refused to submit after years of NATO-supported terrorism in their country and chose their president of their own free will.
He added that the Syrian people remain defiant and independent after a decade-long torment in confronting terrorist mercenaries who have been secretly deployed as well as overt aggression by the NATO military forces attacking Syria illegally in addition to the harsh economic sanctions war, adding that despite all the hardships Syria has witnessed. The Syrian people turned out in large numbers to vote, as the turnout exceeded 78 percent in the elections, and Dr. Bashar al-Assad was elected President of the Republic.
The Irish journalist and writer pointed out that the results of the presidential elections in Syria were an amazing achievement that refutes all Western misinformation narratives and fabrications targeting the Syrian leadership.
Cunningham stressed the failure of Western governments, their media and the companies under them to influence this epic popular Syrian show and include additional fabrications of their nefarious plots against Syria and its people, which forced the Western media to remain silent in the face of the election results.
Cunningham considered that this silence is at the same time funny and provoking Western guilt about the true nature of the war on Syria, which has always been a foreign war and criminal aggression.
The Irish writer concluded by saying: “If there is any justice prevailing in this world, Western politicians should be tried in the dozens for committing war crimes,” noting that the United States, Britain, France and other NATO powers tried before the Syrian presidential elections to distort the Syrian democratic will, claiming that the polls are not fair. Nor is it free, except that the large numbers of Syrians who went out to vote and the subsequent scenes of jubilation all over Syria confirm the lies of Western propaganda and reveal the criminality of NATO forces and their toxic media.
