Parliament Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed keenness to strengthen parliamentary relations between Syria and Iran. This came in the congratulatory message he sent to Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf on the occasion of his re-election as the head of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly.
Sabbagh said in the letter, a copy of which SANA received today, "I am pleased to address to you in my own name and on behalf of the People’s Assembly in Syria, with my sincere congratulations on the occasion of your re-election as Speaker of the Shura Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we wish you continued success and success."
Sabbagh indicated the People's Assembly’s keenness to intensify contacts and consult with the Iranian Shura Council for the benefit of the two peoples.
