The Special Adviser in the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, affirmed that holding the presidential elections on time and Dr. Bashar Al-Assad's victory in the post of President of the Republic is in itself a challenge to the will of the Western countries that conspired against Syria 10 years ago.
In an interview with Al-Suriya TV this evening, Dr. Shaaban indicated that those countries that supported terrorism in Syria were the same that disturbed the constitutional entitlement, stressing that the Syrian people challenged all Western regimes that tried to dissuade them from participating in this event and went out to all the squares to say their word. We are the ones who decide and everything you have done does not affect us because we know that you were and still want discord in our country between our people and our leadership.
Dr. Shaaban emphasized that the relationship between President al-Assad and the people is reciprocal, and that the message sent by his Excellency on the occasion of winning the elections yesterday came as an answer and a challenge to all that the West thought could discourage this people, who withstood unilateral coercive measures and lived through the economic blockade during the terrorist war on Syria and reached An unprecedented stage of awareness to defend his country and that everything that the West broadcasts and tries to convince him of it does not concern him at all.
Dr. Shaaban pointed out that throughout its history, Syria has not given up the option of resistance, and had it not been for its steadfastness and victory, we would not have witnessed a victory in Palestine, noting at the same time that the unity of the Palestinian ranks was essential in making victory and the importance of the unity of the Arab ranks was highlighted.
Dr. Shaaban added: “We are rightful owners, and the Syrian people today have defeated all malicious propaganda that were trying to differentiate between them and their leadership, and they can from now on work as a single bloc, not only for the sake of Syria and Palestine, which have proven the enemy's failure, but for the sake of the Arab world as a whole.”
Dr. Shaaban concluded by saying: "We have mercy on the souls of the martyrs, we wish a speedy recovery for the wounded, and we salute every Syrian citizen who has persevered in this country. We affirm that the awareness that the Syrian people have reached today will necessarily be reflected in serious and continuous work in the coming years."
