At 8:30 pm yesterday (29th), officers from the Special Duty Squad of Yau Tsim Police District intercepted a 15-year-old local boy and a 15-year-old local girl near a building on Castle Peak Road in Cheung Sha Wan. A small amount of suspected heroin was seized.

The police officers then went to a unit of the building to investigate and seized about 1 kilogram of suspected ice, about 720 grams of suspected heroin and about 35 grams of suspected crack cocaine in the unit.

The total market value of the drugs seized during the operation exceeded 1.58 million yuan.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and possession of drugs, and the girl was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and is currently being detained for investigation.

The police stressed that there is zero tolerance for all drug activities and will continue to crack down on them.

Drug trafficking is a serious crime. According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, Chapter 134 of the laws of Hong Kong, upon conviction, the maximum penalty is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment. The public should not try the law on their own.
