The Israeli occupation continues its settlement plans in the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem, its old town, and the surrounding neighborhoods, which are subject to attacks and violations with the aim of displacing their people, seizing their lands and judaizing them, amid international silence and a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions.
The National Bureau for Land Defense and Settlement Resistance of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated in its weekly report released today that the occupation is escalating its violations and crimes in occupied Jerusalem and the surrounding neighborhoods in an attempt to isolate it from its Palestinian surroundings in the West Bank, especially in Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood, which is inhabited by more than 800 Palestinians from The origin of about 60 thousand people reside in the town of Silwan and its extension in Ras al-Amud to the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and are exposed to the crimes of the occupation and its colonial plans with the aim of forcibly displacing the residents of Batn al-Hawa neighborhood from their homes and seizing them.
The report pointed out that the occupation authorities are accelerating the process of seizing lands, expanding settlements and establishing settlement roads that connect them to the settlements built on the occupied Palestinian lands in 1948, and besiege Palestinians in areas isolated from each other, within the framework of the occupation's Judaizing and aggressive plans against them.
The report indicated that the occupation authorities announced a plan to establish 560 settlement units to expand a settlement built on Palestinian lands in the villages of Kisan and Rashaida, southeast of Bethlehem. It occupies an area of 400 square meters and was seized with the aim of converting it into an outpost for expanding one of the settlements.
The report indicated that settlers continue their attacks on the cities and towns of the West Bank under the protection of the occupation forces, as they stormed Khirbet Zanuta east of Dhahriya and the village of At Tawani, south of Hebron, and attacked the Palestinians and their property as well as burning more than 15 dunums of Palestinian agricultural lands in Masafer Yatta, while they stormed the Sahl Haj Muhammad area in the village. Kisan, east of Bethlehem, seized swaths of its lands with the aim of establishing a settlement outpost, as they attacked the lands of Burin village, south of Nablus, the town of Beit Furik, in the east, and Ya'bad, southwest of Jenin, and bulldozed large areas in order to expand settlement operations.
