In one more manifestation of the growing internal tensions in the ruling party, the diplomatic world and the government itself wonder what is happening with the appointments of Marcela Losardo and Guillermo Nielsen as ambassadors.

The former Minister of Justice and perhaps

Alberto Fernández's

closest friend

in the Cabinet, of almost familiar closeness, had been appointed last March for the position of Argentine representative before UNESCO, the United Nations Educational Organization, for the Science and Culture.

It was after a long wear and tear that she was subjected to by Kirchnerism, led by Vice President Cristina Kirchner when she did not see the judicial reform implemented, for which she continues to struggle to accommodate the corruption cases that afflict her and her children.

Meanwhile, Nielsen, also a man targeted by Fernández, was forced out of the YPF presidency, in

another defeat for the President in his relationship with La Cámpora.

A respected figure in various fields for his performance as a former Finance Secretary, Nielsen agreed to leave the oil company to go as ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

The situation is this, as Clarín learned.

E

l Losardo specification is in the Senate since March 20 and took state parliament, just one month later.

Nielsen's is from before.

Since March.

As both are political ambassadors,

their specifications must be approved by the Agreement Commission

, chaired by the ultra-Christian Anabel Fernández Sagasti, and then must be ratified by the plenary session. The situation awakens two interpretations. One indicates that the delay is due to the Argentine health situation, in a case similar to the delays of the first stage of the 2020 quarantine when several political ambassadors appointed by Fernández for diplomatic headquarters were delayed. And the other, openly, is that "The Doctor" - they say in clear reference to Cristina - has them either "draped" or delayed "a bit" with a wink.

"The doctor is making them feel her power,"

summed up one observer in the Senate.

The cold treatment of the candidates for ambassadors proposed by President Alberto Fernández contrasted with recent nominations promoted by CFK from the Instituto Patria.

These are the cases of the now ambassadors Sabino Vaca Navaja, to China;

Luis Ilarrigue, to Cuba;

and Ariel Basteiro, to Bolivia.

All three were expeditiously processed by the corresponding commission and were sent to the plenary session of the Upper House in a timely manner.

 The appointment of Losardo as a

replacement for the late Fernando "Pino" Solanas

caused discomfort in cultural circles due to the scarce background in this matter of the former minister.

For years, the representation before UNESCO, based in Paris, was covered by figures linked to the world of Literature such as Abel Posse, Archibaldo Lanús, Víctor Massuh and Jorge Asís. At the same time, the Foreign Ministry assures that Losardo is already dedicated to his work in Buenos Aires, still without parliamentary ratification.

In turn, Nielsen's appointment in Saudi Arabia seemed to respond to Alberto Fernández's need to find a "consolation prize" for who was also ambassador to Germany and who was even mentioned at the time as a possible Minister of Economy. But Nielsen was not He is the object of the affection of CFK and La Cámpora.
