The Flers gendarmerie barracks suffered from Friday to Saturday fireworks mortar fire from a dozen people who intentionally aimed at the windows of military housing, before touching those of the offices, reports Ouest France.
According to the daily, the shooting took place around 11 p.m., then the attackers prevented the police reinforcements as well as the firefighters from accessing the neighborhood.
The firefighters therefore waited for the arrival of more police to intervene.

, the rioters then took advantage of the time taken by the reinforcements to get there to then flee by setting fire to several vehicles, mainly cars parked there but also a van and a backhoe loader. About thirty gendarmes and police were then deployed in the neighborhood until the middle of the night. The police estimate that six to ten people participated in the attack. Three individuals were then arrested, but their custody ended without their guilt being proven. The Flers police station is investigating for "
degradation by dangerous means
". One hypothesis perhaps explaining the reason for the sudden violence would be the imprisonment on Friday of a city resident accused of drug trafficking.
