Neuhaus - A 21-year-old Lenggrieser was stopped by the police on Saturday evening, heavily drunk, when he got stuck with an unlit hospital elevator on the B 307 near Aurach. According to officials, the man had been visiting a friend in Neuhaus and had decided in the course of the evening to take a trip in the hospital elevator of one of the friend's relatives in need of care. At 9:50 p.m. shortly before Aurach, he had strayed slightly from the road and had stuck his vehicle due to its lack of off-road capabilities.
During the subsequent inspection of the 21-year-old, the officers smelled the alcohol.
A voluntary breath alcohol test showed more than 1.1 per thousand.
Therefore, the Lenggrieser was taken to the Agatharied hospital to have his blood drawn.
To make matters worse, the hospital elevator had no valid insurance board and therefore no current insurance coverage.
The Lenggrießer now expects a criminal case for drunkenness in traffic and violation of the compulsory insurance law.
