Of the 24 parties that make up the first and second cordon, only Morón and Vicente López exceeded that percentage. La Matanza, José C. Paz, Florencio Varela and Merlo, the lowest performances.

Five months after the start of vaccination,

91% of the Buenos

Aires

suburbs

have percentages of application of

first doses lower than 30%

of their total population. Of the

24 municipalities

that are part of the first and second cordon, 22 register numbers below that figure, while there

are two that exceed that barrier: Morón and Vicente López

. In the case of the application of second doses, the numbers are even more alarming: only nine districts have more than 5% of their inhabitants fully immunized.

The data comes from the analysis made by

Clarín

of the Situation Room of the Ministry of Health of the province of Buenos Aires, in charge of the administration of Governor Axel Kicillof, until Friday, May 28. In that vein,

La Matanza is the one

that offers lower performance, with 12.1%

of first dose applied, while

Morón and Vicente Lopez show the best brands,

with

31.5% and

the

31.4%

of the total of its inhabitants vaccinated with at least one dose. Among the 24 districts analyzed, the average number of vaccinated is 18.4%.

In the case of the municipality governed by Fernando Espinoza, from the Frente de Todos, it is the one with the largest population in the entire Conurbano. Following the projection of the provincial Ministry of Economy, which for 2021 foresees 2,327,874 inhabitants in La Matanza, the 282,176 first doses given represent only 12.1% of the total. In the case of second doses,

La Matanza only registers 2.8% of its inhabitants fully immunized

.

From the Matanzas intendancy they argued that

1.3 million people

correspond to the population to be vaccinated in this first stage of the campaign

,

since for now those under 18 years of age are excepted, who in that municipality assures the local government are almost half.

And that this universe is smaller, taking into account that the registered so far are 750,000.

From various municipalities they argued that the percentage is low because at this stage those over 18 are prioritized.

In some countries, such as the United States, vaccination of people over 12 years of age with Pfizer has already begun, after the approval received from the FDA.

The other extreme, with numbers more in line with the current stage, are

Morón and Vicente López

, with

almost a third of their population with at least one dose in their arm

.

In the case of the party led by the official Lucas Ghi, they were vaccinated with one dose at 31.5% and with two doses at 7.7%.

In the municipality headed by Jorge Macri, from Together for Change, the numbers are similar: 31.4% and 7.1%, respectively.

At what rate is vaccinated in each municipality

The rest of the Conurbano reflects performances that are located mainly between 15% and 25% of vaccinated with a dose, with some points lower and others higher.

Lomas de Zamora, Malvinas Argentinas, José C. Paz, Florencio Varela, Moreno, Merlo, Ezeiza, Esteban Echeverría, Almirante Brown, Tigre, Quilmes and San Miguel do not exceed 20% of the first doses

applied to date.

These are

11 municipalities governed by mayors who are part of the ruling party and one of the opposition

: Martín Insaurralde, Leonardo Nardini, Mario Ishii, Andrés Watson, Mariel Fernández, Gustavo Menéndez, Alejandro Granados, Fernando Gray, Mariano Cascallares, Julio Zamora and Mayra Mendoza (Frente de Todos) and Jaime Méndez (Together for Change).

In the lot of those who could at least manage to vaccinate more than two out of every 10 inhabitants with a dose, in addition to the aforementioned case of Jorge Macri and Vicente López, there are the

other three municipalities of the Conurbano that govern mayors of Together for Change

.

 San Isidro

, led by Gustavo Posse, managed to apply first doses to 26.8% of its population.

Lanús

, led by Néstor Grindetti, has 25.2% vaccinated at least with the first application. And

Tres de Febrero

, which Diego Valenzuela has governed since 2015, has 24.7% of the first doses applied.

Among the municipalities headed by mayors of the ruling party and more than 20% vaccinated, in addition to the case of Lucas Ghi and Morón, there are several.

General San Martín

, a party led by Fernando Moreira after the inauguration of Gabriel Katopodis as Minister of Public Works, equals the 20% line of first doses applied.

San Fernando

, where the referent of the Front Renovador Front Juan Andreotti manages, vaccinated with a dose of 21%. Meanwhile,

Berazategui

, led by the historic mayor Juan José Mussi, reaches 22.1%.

With 24.7% of the first doses given is

Ituzaingó

, who has governed Alberto Descalzo since 1995, while with 25.1% is the neighboring

Hurlingham

party,

owned

by Juan Zabaleta.

Avellaneda

, with 28.8%, is the other of the municipalities that respond to Kirchnerism that is among the highest vaccination rates, with 28.8% of first doses applied.

Its mayor is no longer Jorge Ferraresi, perhaps Cristina Kirchner's main ally in the Conurbano.

When in November of last year he took office as Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat, he asked for leave and his place was taken by Alejo Chornobroff, his chief of staff.

The numbers of the Province, in tune

Counting

the 135 municipalities of the province of Buenos Aires, the situation does not change

what has to do with the rate of vaccination far from the levels projected by Nation and by the government of Kicillof when it began to be

vaccinated, to end of December last year.

In these five months, 4.5 million doses were applied to Buenos Aires soil, although

the first doses injected were 3,577,149

.

With a total population estimated at more than 17 million, including those under 18 years of age,

the average barely exceeds 20%

, in line with what happens in the suburban municipalities.

The third cordon, also with delays

In the six municipalities that are part of the third cordon of the Conurbano there has also been a slow rate of vaccination. In

Marcos Paz, 20.6% of first doses were reached

and it is the highest percentage compared to the rest, which does not exceed that 20% barrier. San Vicente registered 19.6%, General Rodríguez 19.2%, Escobar 18.9%, Pilar 16.2% and Presidente Perón 15%.
