The head-to-head race between the Greens and Union remains exciting.

The CDU and CSU are currently on the road to success.

But not directly with the candidacy for chancellor.

Berlin - After Annalena Baerbock's Green Chancellor candidacy was announced, the party first went high in polls. At the beginning of May, the eco-party was on par with the Union in terms of sentiment prior to the federal election in September - and at times even defied. Baerbock also received a lot of encouragement as a possible successor to Merkel. But current surveys are ending the soaring for the time being. In the Sunday trend, the Greens slip behind the Union.

The opinion research institute INSA

carries out an opinion poll

for the

Bild

newspaper every

week

and wants to know: “If there were general elections next Sunday, how would you vote?” With 22 percent and the loss of one percentage point compared to the previous week, the Green Party is currently behind Union.

This can boast an approval rating of 25 percent and increase by one percentage point within seven days.

Thus, the party of Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock is three percentage points behind the CDU and CSU.

Nevertheless, it remains a neck and neck race for the most promising parties in the super election year 2021.

Survey on the federal election in September 2021: Baerbock, Scholz or Laschet as Federal Chancellor: in?

Behind the Greens and the Union are the Social Democrats with their candidate for Chancellor Olaf Scholz. If there were parliamentary elections next Sunday, 16 percent of those surveyed would vote for the SPD in the current Sunday trend. That is one percentage point less than the week before. The FDP holds the value and is 13 percent. The right-wing populist party Alternative für Deutschland stagnated at 12 percent. The left can gain a percentage point and come to seven percent.

Another interesting question is highlighted in the current Sunday trend. The chancellor candidate: inside directly. "Who should become Chancellor", pollsters want to know. In a direct election, 19 percent of those questioned would vote for the 40-year-old Baerbock (minus one percentage point), closely followed by the SPD politician and current Federal Minister of Finance, Olaf Scholz, who retains his value of 18 percent. Union chancellor candidate Armin Laschet increases by one percentage point and receives 16 percent. Among the most promising candidates for the successor to the 16-year-old Chancellor Angela Merkel, the CDU politician brings up the rear.

Important: Surveys only show a snapshot, which means that a lot can change before the general election in September.

The results of individual surveys may differ depending on the survey method, participants and survey period.

from May 25th to May 28th and wanted to know who was chosen would be chosen next Sunday.

In addition, 1001 people were surveyed on May 28, 2021.

The following question was asked: "Assuming you could vote for the Federal Chancellor directly and had the choice between Armin Laschet from the CDU, Annalena Baerbock from the Greens and Olaf Scholz from the SPD: Who would you choose?"
