Russia's Sukhoi Corporation has begun developing a fifth-generation, single-engine tactical fighter.
"
This 18-ton light fighter is being developed,"
Sputnik quoted the head of Rostec, the parent company of Sukhoi
Sergey Chemezov, as telling reporters, explaining that it can optionally be operated to fly with a pilot on board or work as a drone.
The new design will widely use technical solutions that have already been tested on the fifth-generation Su-57 fighters, including a coating that absorbs radio waves, reducing the aircraft's appearance on radars and equipping it with airborne electronic equipment and weapons.
