Halle - According to the organizers, around 2000 people took to the streets against right-wing extremism, anti-Semitism and racism in Halle on Saturday. They followed a call from the civil society alliance #unteilbar Sachsen-Anhalt. It had called for actions in four places in compliance with the Corona rules. At a rally in which SPD chairwoman Saskia Esken also took part, speakers warned against voting right-wing forces in the state elections on June 6 in Saxony-Anhalt *. The SPD * boss Esken told the dpa that democracy needs the commitment of all people. Society should not allow rights to influence parliaments.

In front of one of the two attack sites on October 9, 2019 in Halle, the Kiez-Döner-Imbiss, banners said, among other things, “Whoever votes AfD, votes Nazis” or “Racism kills”.

Several speakers urged the people to work for a democratic, cosmopolitan and solidary society in everyday life.
