A shooting early this Sunday at the exit of a concert has left two dead and about twenty injured in the northwest of Miami-Dade County (Florida).

One of the hospitalized is in critical condition.

After midnight, three unidentified people got out of a pickup truck with assault rifles and pistols and began firing "indiscriminately" at the crowd, reported the police, who are still searching for the assailants.

"These are cold-blooded killers who fired indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice," Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramírez III said on Twitter.

“This type of gun violence has to stop.

Every weekend, it's the same.

This is a goal.

This is definitely not random, ”Ramírez said this morning at a press conference.

Between midnight and one in the morning this Sunday, a white Nissan Pathfinder pulled up in front of a place called El Mula Banquet Hall.

The room was rented to offer a concert with live performances by local rappers.

Three armed people got out of the vehicle and fired at the crowd gathered outside.

When the firefighters arrived at the crime scene, two people had already died.

According to the authorities, the number of gunshot wounded may reach 25. Firefighters transferred eight of them to nearby hospitals.

Those who arrived at Palmetto General Hospital had wounds below the groin, abdomen, arm and legs, according to local media.

This is the second mass shooting in Miami this weekend that marks Memorial Day: One person was killed and six gunshot wounds in the touristy neighborhood of Wynwood on Friday night.

So far this year there have been 231 mass shootings in the United States, according to the count kept by The Gun Violence Archive, which documents events with four or more injured or killed.
