“It is not with love that the homelands are preserved, but rather with blood and the soul.” Under this title, the residents of Al-Wafideen camp in Damascus countryside gathered this evening as part of an event celebrating Dr. Bashar Al-Assad’s victory as President of the Republic, which was held in cooperation with the Levant Land Foundation.
The participants in the rally carried national flags and pictures of President al-Assad and chanted for joy at the victory, stressing that they had chosen the most worthy candidate capable of leading Syria to safety. Technical and sports segments were presented during the rally.
SANA’s camera monitored the opinions of a number of citizens participating in the event. The father of the martyr Khaled Al-Hassan, from the Haj Ali clan, from the town of Al-Batiha in the occupied Golan, said, “It is our right to rejoice and celebrate the weddings by choosing the right leader of the homeland who fulfilled the nation’s hopes.”
For his part, Khalil Saleh Al-Hamdan confirmed that today's rally is an expression of the great joy that Dr. Al-Assad won the position of President of the Republic, despite the haters who tried to disrupt the legitimacy of the elections, and the Syrian people said their words at the polls and decided their choice with the person who leads them towards safety and victory.
As for Reham Nayef, a resident of the occupied Golan, she said, “We congratulate President al-Assad for his victory against the enemies of the homeland, and we, in turn, pledge to him that we will remain loyal, as Najah Awad and Abeer Mahmoud from the Al-Wafideen camp showed that the Syrians are reaping today the fruit of the victories of the Syrian Arab Army and its tremendous sacrifices in defending the homeland.”
As for the injured Abdul Haq, a resident of the neighborhood who was shot in the foot in the Hama region, he said I came to share the joy of Dr. Al-Assad’s victory in the position of President of the Republic, and I pledge to him that I will remain faithful and loyal, for he is our role model and our highest example of dignity and redemption.
Said Sweid, a resident of the neighborhood, said, “Today, we are celebrating the remarkable victory that President al-Assad achieved in the presidential elections, stressing that his victory is a victory for justice and popular will, and we, as we were, will remain behind his courageous leadership and hand in hand we will work to reach hope.”
