The Lenggries mountain rescue service had to move out to Jachenau on Saturday evening after a mountain biker was reported missing.
Lenggries / Jachenau - As the Tölzer police write in their press release, the 52-year-old Feldafinger (district of Starnberg) set out on a mountain bike tour from Jachenau that evening.
Presumably, due to increasing darkness, the man lost his bearings and wandered aimlessly.
Wife alerts the rescue workers
Finally, he shared his location data (GPS) with his wife, who then alerted the rescue workers.
Four volunteer rescuers from the mountain rescue service and the head of operations moved out at around 11.40 p.m.
In addition, other forces at the station were alerted as it was unclear how complex the rescue operation would be.
Mountain biker is discovered in the area of the Staffelgraben
At around 1 a.m., the missing person was found safe and sound by the mountain rescue service in the area of the relay trench.
From there, the rescuers brought the man safely into the valley.
The work for the mountain rescue team ended at around 2 a.m.
