The incident occurred on December 11th last year in Friedergries near Griesen.

The poacher, a 28-year-old man from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, has illegally shot a chamois.

Even the hunting magazine "Wild und Hund" has now reported about the shooting.

The perpetrator has to answer: He received a penalty order in the amount of 6300 euros (90 daily rates of 70 euros).

The hiker, who is involved in the wildlife watch and does not want to read her name in the newspaper, immediately called her friend, animal rights activist Tessy Lödermann from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The officers immediately launched a manhunt.

They cordoned off the forest roads between Griesen and Frieder.

The police officers got hold of the 28-year-old in the area of ​​the Ochsenhütte.

As it turned out, the young man has completed a degree in forestry and, according to the hunting magazine, worked as an employee in wood purchasing last year. Apparently he also had a hunting license, but in this area of ​​the Oberammergau Forestry Operation of the Bavarian State Forests this was not valid and hunting was prohibited for him. He is guilty of poaching, a criminal offense under the penal code. The police seized some items at the scene, including a rifle and ammunition. Long guns and cartridges were withdrawn.

The procedure for the withdrawal of the hunting license is ongoing. "We are still checking," confirms Stephan Scharf, press spokesman for the district office. Since the reliability in the sense of the gun law already expires with a penalty of 60 daily rates, the poacher threatens further trouble, says Scharf. "It is possible that his hunting license and gun license will be withdrawn for at least five years."
