At 7pm today (30th), it was reported that a woman pretended to be a customer and entered the Fook Moon Lam Jewellery and Gold Shop at 59 Wu Wah Street, Kwun Tong to buy gold ware, and asked the staff to take out the jewellery, including two pieces of crude gold, from the decoration cabinet. With a chain and a ring, the female thief took the opportunity to steal 3 pieces of gold and escaped. The female thief was found and stopped by the eye-catching female staff. The female staff was injured in the entanglement room, and the female thief was uniformly subdued.
The police arrived at the scene, arrested the female thief and brought it back to the police station for investigation, while the female staff was sent to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
According to the police, the arrested woman's surname is Ying (46 years old).
At the time of the incident, she pretended to be a customer to buy gold jewelry at the site.
During the period, a ring and two gold chains were snatched, worth about 130,000 yuan in total.
When she tried to escape, she was stopped by a female staff member surnamed Guo (62 years old) and other staff.
In the chaos, a female employee surnamed Guo injured her chest and hands and was sent to United Hospital for treatment.
The woman involved in the case, surnamed Ying, was arrested on suspicion of "robbing" and "possession of offensive weapons" and was handed over to the Kwun Tong District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
