The final of the Pro D2 will oppose, next Sunday in Montpellier, the Usap and the BO who won in the semi-final respectively against Oyonnax and Vannes.

Biarritz created a surprise by winning in the last second Sunday in the semi-final of Pro D2 on the ground of Vannes (34-33) and will challenge Perpignan in the final, Saturday in Montepllier.

What suspense!

As the siren sounded, substitute Gavin Stark scored under the posts after an endless streak and sent the Basques to the final after an incredible encounter and a thrilling crossover.

The Perpignan-Biarritz duel will have a scent of the 2000s, when the two clubs were used to playing in the finals of the Top 14 or the European Cup.

After having easily beaten Grenoble in Aguilera, the BO showed incredible strength of character, never abdicating in Brittany.

In the event of a defeat against Usap in Montpellier, the Biarrots will always have the possibility of going up in a jump-off against the 13th of the Top 14, Pau or Bayonne.

Mind-blowing scenario à la Rabine

Under a bright sun, their match against Vannes, second in the regular season, was particularly exciting. The Bretons, who dominated in the ground game, suffered in the first half the realism of the Basques, who scored two fine tries by winger Henry Speight and opener Gilles Bosch. But on a good attack, with a breakthrough from English back Nick Abdendanon, the Vannetais scored a superb try by winger Ambrose Curtis and took the lead with a breath at the break (13-12).

In the second half, the crossover continued.

Just entered the game, opener Christopher Hilsenbeck thought he had sheltered the Bretons from a penalty (30-22, 68th).

But his teammate Darren Barry received a yellow card and the BO took the opportunity to revive the suspense thanks to his hooker replacing Lucas Peyresblanques.

Hilsenbeck once again gave his family a little oxygen but Stark showered the Breton hopes of participating in the first Pro D2 final in their history.

The supporters of Biarritz could shout "We are in the final" while those of Vannes grappled with both hands after this hallucinatory scenario.

The adventure continues
