A 48-year-old man was fatally injured today (Sunday) after being hit by a barbell at the Holmes Place gym in Givatayim.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene provided him with initial treatment and evacuated him to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer while performing resuscitation operations.
According to witnesses at the gym, the same person used a weight facility and for some reason the safety buckles were not locked. The weight collapsed on him. It was hundreds of kilograms.
